Girl Crush

How cute is this pillow?
Miu Miu Bag

I recently came across thecoveteur.com and am totally obsessed. I check it almost daily for inspiration. One of my favorite profiles they've done is with Tracy Taylor: U.S. Editor for Net-A-Porter.com. She has such great style. I hope my shoe closet looks that amazing one day!

Emerson Made

Daily Candy recently pointed me towards a fabulous new clothing line. EM Clothing Collection is timeless, tailored, classic, preppy, and fashion-forward all at the same time. I would love to own any of these garments--from the tweed blazer to the long, prairie-like pocket skirts. I can think of at least 10 ways to wear each of their pieces. Right now I have my eyes on the black, silk blouse for fall with a draped leather jacket on top. Oh man, someone stop me!

All the accessories and clothing in these photos can be found at www.emersonmade.com.

Happy shopping!

Grey Gingham

{J.crew shirt and jean shorts, Banana Republic Bag, Bakers Oxfords, See Boston Glasses}

Outfit number two - gingham shirt and jean shorts. Very casual. Anyone who is my friend on Facebook has already seen some of these pictures - taken by my lovely and very talented sister, Amy. I love gingham anything and am trying to think of a way to incorporate it into my NEW APARTMENT(!!) decor. (Photos to come soon.) As for the oxfords, I think they are CLASSIC and am so happy to see them trending right now. These ones were cheap ($50) and happen to be super comfy--even when walking on rocks and pebbles.

p.s. The glasses are real. I need them - big time.

South End Supper

With Brendan home from the Marines, it seems as though I've been eating out almost every night to celebrate. Most recently we ate at Coppa in the South End - a place we've been to a few times now.

Owned by Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette, the Italian restaurant mimics Oringer's Spanish themed restaurant, Toro, with small plates along with great cocktails. Dinner was fantastic and I'd highly recommend it to anyone - especially visitors from outside Boston. The atmosphere really provides a wonderful feel for the city.

{Coppa's specialty - cured meats served on a pig-shaped cutting board - so cute!}

Murphy's Here!

It's been a long time coming...but my family has officially gotten our new puppy, Murphy! Who knew that such a tiny little pup could have such a huge personality! I love the little guy to pieces and could be entertained by him for hours. In no time he'll be twice the size so I'm trying to take advantage of having a "lap" dog for as long as I can.

Welcome to the family, Murph!

{Of course he has a Celtics collar}

{His favorite spot!}

Girlie Grunge

{Guess dress, J.Crew utility jacket, Ray-Ban sunglasses, F21 sandals, Banana Republic bag}

This past weekend was absolutely wonderful. I was able to enjoy delicious barbecue and the beautiful summer weather while celebrating the 4th with good friends and family. I love long weekends in Gloucester in the summertime. No fancy plans - just some low key fun. This next week is dedicated to detoxing from all the s'mores, ice cream, and brownies I ate.

I am officially uploading my very first outfit post! I love this dress because it reminds me of the grunge style that was popular in the early nineties, but with a girly flair. It is super comfortable and looks great paired with a utility jacket or school-boy cardigan.

People Who Inspire Me #1

I've never met a smarter, more cheerful and carefree little girl than my 3-year-old cousin, Amiyah. Her enthusiasm for life and constant state of contentment make her tremendously inspiring. She has the most beautiful, contagious smile in the world and I could hug her to pieces every time I see her.

"Beat LA" Cupcakes

As I sit here typing this post, the Celtics are currently beating LA 33-31. Unfortunately, my plans were botched this evening after a daunting commute home in this city's ridiculous traffic. I guess it could be worse - I could live in LA.

In an effort to support the C's from my own home, I've decided to make vanilla cupcakes with green meringue frosting. I have to admit, they definitely weren't my favorite cupcakes - partly because I refused to leave my house to get any ingredients that were fun and unique.

Giving Up The Gun

There is nothing worse than getting a song stuck in your head for days. That being said, I do believe that there are exceptions to everything.

I've been a fan of Vampire Weekend since they first came on to the scene a few years back. (In fact, I listened to their self-titled debut so much when I lived in NYC, that their music makes me nostalgic for the Big Apple.) There is a certain quirky, playful, sound that they possess that I can't get enough of. At one point or another, I've had almost every one of their songs stuck in my head and I'm not bothered in the least.

While my personal favorite off their new CD is "White Sky", I have a whole new love for "Giving Up the Gun" after watching their music video. The celebrity cameos are hysterical but the shining star is the cute ginger. She makes me want to put on a cute tennis outfit and kick some Joe Jonas ass. See for yourself.
